However numerous practices do use an older Mac mini for their MacPractice Server, even though they are only dual core, and some practices use Mac Pros. FYI, industry benchmarks indicate the 7th-generation i7 Kaby Lake processor in current iMacs is faster than the Xeon processor in the current Mac Pro. And benchmarks for the 8th generation i3, i5, and i7 Kaby Lake processors in the Mac mini 2018 are even faster.

Storage (HD/SSD) - An internal Solid State Drive (SSD) in place of a hard drive can improve application performance and make backing up faster. (Caution: Some MacPractice clients with larger data files and clients who wanted to partition have experienced problems with fusion drives on pre-2017 models).
